Yalumba The Scribbler 2009

A deep crimson red, The Scribbler 2009 shows excellent concentration and lift on the nose, with redcurrant fruits, spices and licorice complementing fresh floral aromatics of herbs and mints. This is a densely weighted wine with blackcurrant fruit and dark berries. The Shiraz is again nicely layered within a tightly integrated and beautifully structured Cabernet Sauvignon palate. Perfect to drink now, but will certainly cellar well over the next five to 10 years.

Old Rasputin Imperial Stout

Color: Black. Old Rasputin a rich, intense brew with big complex flavors and a warming finish. 75 IBU's." Beer Advocate Todd Alström notes: "Black as night, with a brown chunky head that seems to crawl, rather than stick, to the pint glass. A very impressive cascading effect when poured. Highly roasted malt aromas and alcoholic to the nose. Smooth, potent and espresso like with a high burnt malt and hop bitterness that finishes on the sweet side to say the least. Not a beer for the faint of heart, but rather barley wine lovers and chocolate fanatics.

IXA Silver Tequila

IXÁ is made in an old and increasingly rare way with fully mature agave plants which are cooked slowly in traditional clay ovens and then fermented and distilled with the agave fiber included, compared to modern distillers who buy agave half the size, pressure cook in a tenth the time, and ferment and distill only the agave juice.

Every bottle of IXÁ starts with a verified 9 lbs CO² carbon footprint from start to consumers. They then plant one tree per bottle sold. The difference between the greenhouse gases they create and those they help take away is enough to make the average American carbon negative for a day by just having a cocktail with 2 oz of IXÁ.
